For a brief moment in the 1990s, swing and big band music came back in style. One of the bands that came along for this wave was The Squirrel Nut Zippers. They wrote several songs that would be appropriate for Halloween (such as "Hell") but in my opinion "Ghost of Stephen Foster" from their 1998 album "Perennial Favorites", as well as the brilliant love letter to classic rubber hose animation of the 20s and 30s that was the accompanying music video, remains their spooky masterpiece.
