"Werewolves of London" is a Halloween standard, but some might be be surprised to learn it's not even the most morbid song on the album it was initially released on, Warren Zevon's 1978 "Excitable Boy". The title track to said album was about a crazed teenage killer, but also has a swinging beat and really catchy saxophone solo. On the same record, "Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner" tells the story of a vengeful ghost of a Norwegian mercenary betrayed and murdered during conflicts in 1960s Africa, it also has a really catchy refrain. However, since it's Werewolf Wednesday, the choice of which song to highlight was easy. Enjoy!
